Major end-users have a fight on their hands, as collateral, credit and cost issues threaten their businesses. In recent years, industrial and commercial end-users have started to change the way they view energy risk management and what tools they decide to use to hedge their risks.

In April this year, one of the UK's largest energy suppliers, npower, released its findings from its npower Business Energy Index (nBEI), which is an annual survey tracking business opinion on energy use and carbon
