Skilling granted appeal hearing

The US Supreme Court has agreed to hear an appeal from Jeffrey Skilling, former chief executive of Enron.

The petition was granted on October 13. According to news reports, the appeal is expected to be heard next year. An appeals court filing made public by Skilling’s lawyer last week claimed prosecutors hid evidence comprised of statements from Enron’s chief financial officer Andrew Fastow that would have supported Skilling’s case.
