Guy Newsam, general manager at Muntons, a UK-based energy-intensive corporation, talks to Katie Holliday about how the company is addressing its exposure to volatile energy costs and carbon risk

UK-based malt supplier Muntons has been producing malt and malted ingredients for more than 80 years, but it is only during the past decade that energy risk management has reached prominence on its agenda.
The company is split into two divisions: Muntons Malt, which services the brewing and distilling industries, and Muntons Malted Ingredients, which focuses on the food and non-alcoholic beverage industries.
Muntons uses 28 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of power and 185 million kWh of gas a year
