EEX/Eurex launch new emissions futures contracts

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) and derivatives exchange Eurex have launched futures contracts with a new delivery date for European Emission Allowance (EUA) and Certified Emission Reductions (CER) in line with the over-the-counter market.

The market has been split between two delivery dates, the OTC delivery date on December 1 and the standard used by European Climate Exchange (ECX) the last Monday in December.
