Senators delay climate change legislation

Draft climate change legislation scheduled for release next week has been delayed until later this month.

A joint statement was released yesterday by Senators Barbara Boxer and John Kerry, co-sponsors of the bill. Senator Boxer is chairman of the Senate's Environment and Public works committee.

While the statement said the Kerry-Boxer bill was "moving along well", it will now be introduced later this month, rather than September 8, as previously planned.

The statement said: "Because of Senator Kennedy's recent passing, Senator Kerry's August hip surgery, and the intensive work on health care
