FTSE & JSE expand sharia offering

Index provider FTSE and South African securities exchange the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) have launched the FTSE/JSE Shariah Top 40 index, which is designed to provide exposure to sharia-compliant companies from the Shariah All-Share Index. The index can be used as a basis for financial products.

The constituents of the index are screened by sharia investment advisory firm Yasaar Research.
