AIG group to tackle governance and data

BASEL, SWITZERLAND – The Accord Implementation Group's (AIG) operational risk working group is focused on tackling internal governance and data issues at its next meeting, according to an international regulatory source.

The AIG operational risk subgroup established three 'informal' working groups at the end of last year – corporate governance, data issues and quantification/modelling.

The source says that on the subject of data issues, he hopes there was a "fair bit of room for supervisors to come together and agree on things because it is fairly technical stuff". He adds that, at minimum, he hopes the informal working group will be able to draft a selection of industry best practices to provide guidance to
