Boston Fed regulation chief promoted

Eric Rosengren is the new president and chief executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Lisa Lynch, who heads the board of directors at the bank, said: “After conducting a national search that identified several superbly qualified candidates, we have decided that Eric Rosengren is our choice.”

Rosengren is now executive vice-president, head of supervision regulation and credit, and chief discount officer. He has researched risk management and was part of the Fed team involved with the Basel II Capital Accord. Rosengren will start his new role on July 23.
