More and more private equity firms are entering the renewable energy space. For some firms, this means adjusting their traditional investment approach. Tom Murley of HgCapital speaks to Oliver Holtaway about the prizes and pitfalls of investing in renewable power generation
Tom Murley heads a seven-strong renewable energy team at private equity firm HgCapital. The firm's European renewable energy portfolio contains over 120 megawatts (MW) currently in construction or operation and 700MW in development, making HgCapital one of the most active investors in the European renewable energy market. The portfolio includes eight wind farms currently in construction or operation and two biomass facilities in construction. The firm made its first investments in the renewable
