Negative RAND bug in Excel 2003
Recent information has indicated that the latest version of Microsoft Excel – Excel 2003 – may have a serious bug in it. Specifically, Microsoft had attempted to modify the code behind their random number generator. The result is that the RAND function, which is supposed to generate uniform random numbers between 0 and 1 may now actually generate negative numbers.
For major users of Excel who have used the RAND function in previous spreadsheets,
