Global energy head for DrKW

Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW), the investment bank of Dresdner Bank AG, has appointed Kamal Murari as global head of energy marketing.

Murari joins DrKW from Deutsche Bank, where he was a director responsible for marketing structured commodity products to clients in the emerging markets. Previously, Murari was global head of energy marketing at NM Rothschild and Sons. Before this, Murari worked for 10 years at JP Morgan Chase, latterly as head of marketing, energy derivatives, for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He will be based in London and will report to Martin Fraenkel, global head of commodities.

Fraenkel said: "Kamal is a seasoned professional, who will drive the bank's distribution of energy-related products to our clients. Kamal's appointment is a further indication of our intention to build out our commodities platform and, more specifically, grow our energy business in 2006."

Ingo Ramming, managing director of new product development in global derivatives, added: "Kamal's addition will provide a significant boost to our emissions trading platform and his experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow this business."
