In the sterling investment-grade market, financials underperformed corporates over the final quarter of 2007. However, the widening in financials did enable trading activity to resume more quickly for financials than corporates; financials have been far busier than corporates, which analysts say are still clinging to levels where realistically there is little demand to buy assets.
