Top investors in credit
This year has been an eye-opener for investors in European credit, with some fund managers living dangerously by under-investing in credit expertise. For some investors, though, that is not a problem. Euan Hagger spoke to five of the top fund managers about their investment style.
INVESTING IN CREDIT HAS BEEN A MORE challenging experience than many in the European market would have thought possible at the start of this year. In 2000, the telecoms sector gave investors a taste of how volatile credit quality can be, but this year, and since the summer in particular, that lesson has been underscored in full.
Among the questions this raises is the extent to which investors in European credit are properly qualified to deal with the challenges of the market. The answer is that
