Barclays Capital wins derivatives house of the year in 2005 Risk Awards
Barclays Capital, the UK-based investment bank, scooped the prestigious Derivatives House of the Year Award in Risk magazine’s sixth awards for achievement in risk management.
Risk’s lifetime achievement award went to Bill Winters, co-head of investment banking at JP Morgan, in recognition of reaching the pinnacle the investment bank through a career in derivatives spanning more than two decades.
UBS was recognised for its achievements in three categories: currency derivatives house of the year, interest rate derivatives house of the year and bank risk manager of the year. Deutsche Bank was another major winner, taking the credit derivatives and energy derivatives categories.
This year’s awards were expanded to include a greater number of end-user awards than ever before, reflecting the increasing sophistication of sovereigns, corporates, insurance companies and asset managers in their use of risk management techniques.
