US Basel II shambles rumbles on

Process stalls due to delay in NPR approval, new hearings and substantial revisions

WASHINGTON, DC - The Basel II approval process in the US was widely acknowledged to be in chaos by late August, with delays to the approval of the notice of proposed rulemaking (NPR), new Congressional hearings in the pipeline, and potential substantial revisions to the US's Basel II framework likely over the medium term.
