Vendors seeking to cater to pension fund clients are rolling out a new breed of asset/liability risk analysis tools to complement risk reporting and benchmarking systems, all tailored to the unique needs of these institutions. Clive Davidson reports

The days when pension funds could afford to be dogmatically risk-averse are long gone. Turbulent financial markets, unfavourable demographics and a move towards market-driven accounting have combined to push risk management to centre stage.
