Custom indexes are becoming the talk of the structured products world. Barely a week has gone by in the past few months without the launch of a new index by an investment bank and an index provider. Many of these launches also signal the creation of new asset classes for structured products, meaning investors can now access markets such as renewable energy, private equity and alpha strategies for the first time.
