Nomura debuts Ucits III fund

Japan's Nomura has launched an open-ended Global Emerging Markets 80% Protected Portfolio Fund. The fund, domiciled in Ireland, combines a globally diversified emerging market underlying with capital protection. It invests 100% in emerging markets and the profits are locked-in if the markets rise.

According to Nomura, the fund is aimed at both private and institutional investors. The fund protects investors by guaranteeing 80% of the highest net asset value (NAV) achieved during the fund's life.
