GFI introduces Nymex CAPP

Inter-dealer broker GFI has introduced a Nymex look-alike Central Appalachian (CAPP) coal contract that can be cleared via Nymex Clearport.

Although the contract has been available on Nymex for some time and has been brokered over-the-counter (OTC) by three major US brokers, GFI is the first broker to launch it electronically to European clients.

"We're the only broker to put it on the screen," says Tris Simmonds, head of GFI's coal desk.

The product is listed on GFI's EnergyMatch Europe platform, a Trayport facility, and is supported by GFI's brokers in London, North America and Singapore.
