APM wades into Californian water

ACES Power Marketing (APM) has extended its energy risk management services to irrigation districts and public water agencies in California.

In a transaction with the Power and Water Resources Pooling Authority (PWRPA), APM will offer services such as real-time and short-term trading, scheduling and load following as the authority bids to improve its trading and risk management strategies in the region.

The PWRPA incorporates 15 public water purveyors organized under California law to collectively manage power resources and loads. The organization’s considerable reach encompasses an area the size of Connecticut, serving 3 million
