Evolution expands US west coast emissions brokerage ops

Energy broker Evolution Markets has expanded its environmental market operations for the western US with the hire of Laura Meadors, an expert in environmental market design and analysis. She is based in the San Francisco office, which opened in February 2004.

Meadors will provide brokerage, structured-transaction and environmental finance services for the emissions-allowance and emission reduction credit markets in California and other west coast states.

She will also provide similar services in both the nationwide voluntary renewable energy credit (REC) markets and the emerging compliance REC markets in the western US.

The west coast emissions markets look set to pick up, says Evolution spokesman Evan Ard for two reasons.
