Patrick Brazel, who was managing director at Sungard Capital Markets, has been appointed to the new position of president at the software vendor.

Brazel's new role reflects the "continued development of Sungard's business" and clarifies the vendor's structure with regard to its parent company, Sungard Data Systems, says a vendor spokesperson.

Coopers & Lybrand has hired Roger Coffin as director of securities regulatory services. Coffin was formerly branch chief at the market regulation division
