US sets out Basel plan of action

-- US regulators have outlined their plan of action over the next 18 months for the finalisation of the Basel II implementation framework.

According to Roger Ferguson, vice chairman of the Federal Reserve Board in Washington DC, speaking via videolink to a conference in Brussels in mid-November, the US is planning to issue a domestic quantitative impact study after the final Basel II document is published in June 2004. According to another regulatory source, 22 banks are expected
