SEC Commissioner plans aggressive Sarbanes-Oxley enforcement

WASHINGTON, DC

-- Despite the serious difficulties financial firms are encountering as they scramble to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC commissioner Cynthia Glassman says to expect swift and rigorous enforcement of the mandate.

Addressing the National Economists Club in early April in Washington DC, Glassman outlined what she considers to be three factors essential to proper corporate behaviour -- which is itself essential to restoring investor confidence, the primary aim of Sarbanes
