Equitable Life report delayed

LONDON -- A key UK government-commissioned report on Equitable Life, the troubled UK mutual life assurer, won’t be published until next year instead of later this year, UK Treasury sources said in August.

The delay reflects the amount of work involved for Scottish judge Lord Penrose who was asked by the government in September last year to inquire into the Equitable scandal, which has reduced the retirement income expectations of up to one million people.
