ABN Amro expands global commodity derivatives team

Dutch bank ABN Amro has made five appointments to its global commodity derivatives team in both the London and New York offices.

In London, Hakan Kocayusufpasaoglu and Gavin Tait join as senior energy traders. Both arrive from BNP Paribas, where Kocayusufpasaoglu traded European crude and product options, while Tait focused on European natural gas.

Dominic Harris joins them as a senior energy marketer. He was previously head of global oil derivatives marketing at BP International.

Jeffrey Baird, formerly head of oil and natural gas trading at Merrill Lynch, becomes senior energy trader in ABN Amro’s New York office. Bruno Stanziale joins him from Deutsche Bank, keeping his previous role as senior energy marketer.

All the appointees report to Wayne Harburn and Vincent Chevance, head of trading and marketing of commodity derivatives respectively.

“These hires kick-start our intention to build a market leading global energy derivatives platform, providing advanced hedging and risk management services for corporate clients, as well as sophisticated commodity-based investment products for institutional and private investors,” said Harburn.
