Rajendra joins Henderson Global Investors in structured products

London-based asset manager Henderson Global Investors has appointed Ganesh Rajendra in a newly created role as head of advisory and research within its structured products team.

He started on April 20 and reports to Jim Irvine, head of structured products. He will lead the firm's portfolio advisory and recovery business centred on the global structured debt markets, including mortgages, asset-backed securities and leveraged loans.

Henderson said that, during 2008, the structured products team expanded into the advisory business in response to greater demand from legacy risk holders of structured credit for asset management and recovery expertise.

Prior to his new role, Rajendra was a managing director in Deutsche Bank's global markets research group, where he led a securitisation research team for nearly eight years.
