Freddie Mac names Sannini as corporate controller

Freddie Mac has made Edmond Sannini a senior vice-president and corporate controller with responsibility for the US mortgage securitisation corporation's accounting and control function.

“Ed brings a strong understanding of the global financial markets as well as seasoned accounting and reporting skills that will further strengthen Freddie Mac’s capabilities,” said Vaughn Clarke, Freddie Mac executive vice-president and chief financial officer.

Sannini most recently served as managing director and chief operating officer at JP Morgan Chase's global finance group. He had worked at the US bank since 1984, assuming a number of roles that included managing director and chief financial officer of its Europe, Africa and Middle East operations.

Sannini played a leadership role in the financial integration of the Chase/JP Morgan merger, and improved productivity while effectively reducing costs. He also managed all corporate controller functions including public and regulatory reporting, legal entity controllers, accounting policies, regulatory relationships, treasury financial control and rating agency communications.

Sannini, a certified public accountant (CPA), graduated with an accounting major from the University of Delaware.
