HSBC boosts HK derivatives team

HSBC has bolstered its structured derivatives team in Asia with the appointment of Ka Lok Chau from Crédit Agricole Indosuez in Hong Kong. Chau will focus on product development and pricing models, according to John Flint, head of regional fixed-income and derivatives trading at HSBC.

The appointment is part of an overall plan to boost the range of structured products for HSBC’s Asian customer base, as it looks to build off its interest rate and currency swaps business.

The bank is also planning to hire an options trader within the next few weeks, Flint added.
