Ex-Reuters executive Byrne joins Calypso

Ken Byrne, former executive vice-president of Reuters in North America, has joined credit derivatives trading software vendor Calypso Technology.

Calypso has made him an executive vice-president of worldwide field operations at the company's offices in New York. He will be responsible for all sales and professional services worldwide.

Byrne left Reuters in 2003 after his position was eliminated and his responsibilities taken over by Mike Steinharter, who is now Reuters president for the Americas. Since then, Byrne has run his own practice providing sales and marketing consultancy services to technology vendors.
