ABN Amro hires global head of CDOs

Dutch bank ABN Amro has hired Fernando Guerrero, formerly managing director of structured products at TD Securities, to head its global collateralised debt obligation (CDO) business.

Based in New York, Guerrero will report to John Mullen, global head of asset securitisation and Niall Cameron, global head of debt syndicate and credit trading at ABN Amro.Guerrero joins the newly created position with a mandate to boost ABN Amro's balance sheet management and asset management arbitrage businesses.

Prior to his last position at TD Securities, Guerrero was managing director of high yield and structured finance capital markets at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York - now part of CSFB - having also been head of asset-backed finance, global structured finance and global emerging debt capital markets at BT Securities.

Guerrero's appointment follows a raft of senior hires at ABN Amro, including the recruitment last month of Terri Duhon as head of credit structuring and European head of CDOs, based in London. The bank said it intends to continue growing its structured products business with new hires due in the near future.
