GE ERC names Narvell as new global chief actuary

GE's Employers Reinsurance Corporation (GE ERC) has lured John Narvell from XL Winterthur International as its global chief actuary.

Narvell’s responsibilities at GE ERC cover all actuarial functions, including pricing and reserving for all operations. He will report directly to GE ERC president and chief executive Ron Pressman and will be based in London.

"John brings a wealth of international and functional experience and expertise to GE ERC," said Pressman. "He is a valuable asset and we are excited to welcome him to the team."

Narvell was XL Winterthur International’s chief actuary in London and Switzerland, and previously worked as a partner in the consulting actuary division for Ernst & Young. He has also held a variety of positions at Coopers and Lybrand Cigna Worldwide, Commercial Union Insurance Company and Metropolitan Property & Liability.

GE ERC is the world's fourth largest reinsurer and a provider of risk services.
