BNP Paribas adds six to New York equity and derivatives team

BNP Paribas has hired six new traders - five from Nomura Securities - for its New York- based equity and derivatives trading business.

The six traders will join the equity and derivatives quantitative electronic strategic trading business, led by managing director Kyle Rusconi.

Five come from Nomura Securities. Tim Egan and Alidad Mireskandari will join as managing directors. Both were proprietary traders at Nomura. Glenn Waldorf, who joins as a director, was a Nomura proprietary equity trader.

Keith Lillis, joining as a vice-president, was a Nomura senior trader in proprietary equity strategies, and Robert McHugh, also joining as a vice-president, was head trader fundamental long/short at Nomura.

The sixth is David Nikodem, joining as a director from Blumberg Capital Management.

BNP's global head of equities and derivatives, Yann Gerardin, said that he would be adding more US-based employees to the business in the future.
