China has taken the US's mantle as the land of opportunity. Chinese demand for raw materials has driven commodity and energy prices to all-time highs, and businessmen the world over are exploring ways to get rich in this burgeoning market. However, Chris Ruffle, the lead manager of Martin Currie's China Fund, has decided to avoid the large state-owned entities and is instead putting money to work with China's new class of entrepreneurs.
