Euronext plots bond futures foray

Exchange group plans to launch mini futures on European sovereign bonds, aimed at retail investors

Pan-European exchange Euronext is taking on its German rival Eurex in the fight for European government bond derivatives.

Euronext is set to launch a range of mini-European government bond futures in September. The contracts will be available on the Derivatives Milan venue.

By targeting the products at retail investors, the exchange hopes to provide a point of difference from Eurex’s widely traded government bond futures contract.
