JP Morgan eyes tokenised FX swaps on digital assets platform
New intraday currency swaps would cut settlement risk and bring capital benefits, architects say
JP Morgan is planning to offer same-day currency swaps via tokenised intraday foreign exchange trades hosted on its blockchain-powered trading and settlement platform, Onyx.
The new contracts will enable counterparties to reduce settlement risk and manage capital more efficiently, the bank says.
JP Morgan will base its swap trading service on the same technology and workflows as for tokenised repo trades, where the Onyx platform has carried out transactions totalling more than $1.5 trillion
