CFTC and Ferc to share energy data promptly

US regulators the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) have agreed to share energy-trading information promptly and confidentially.

The two agencies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in mid-October to this end, four months ahead of the date it was required by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which was enacted at the end of July.
