S&P launches new suite of QDII indexes

Standard and Poor’s has launched a new suite of six benchmark indexes designed to enable Chinese institutional investors to gain access to overseas equity markets.

The indexes are nine subsets of the S&P/Citigroup Global Equity Benchmarks, which include six Qualified Domestic Institutional Investors (QDII) index configurations: the S&P/Citigroup BMI China ex-A-B-Shares; Hong Kong-Listed China; China and Hong Kong; Greater China ex-Taiwan-Listed; BMI Pan-Asia Developed Markets ex-Japan; BMI Pan-Asia ex-Japan and Taiwan.

Three existing global indexes, the S&P/Citigroup BMI Global, World and Emerging are offered to complete the S&P QDII index family.
