Philippine Stock Exchange partners with SGX for equity futures – Hans Sicat profile

PSE chief Hans Sicat views cross-border partnerships as vital for development of Asean exchanges, although domestic regulation creates some obstacles

The Philippine stock market has been one of the best performers globally over the past two years and to capitalise on increasing investor interest in the archipelago the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) has launched its first set of derivative products. But rather than list these at its Makati headquarters, the firm has partnered with the Singapore Exchange (SGX) to develop an equity futures product based on the MSCI Philippines index. This was launched on November 25, alongside similar SGX
