Bache Commodities enters carbon trading

Bache Commodities, the London-based arm of financial company Prudential, has today launched a carbon and emissions trading desk.

The desk is headed by Andrew Ager, formerly head of power and emissions at broker MF Global, who joined Bache Commodities in January this year.

According to Marc Bailey, managing director of Bache Commodities, increased demand from clients prompted the move. "We established the carbon and emissions trading desk to meet the growing needs of our clients in this area, provide access to the rapidly growing European Union's Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) and prepare for the introduction of a carbon
