IIF to draw up best-practice guidelines

The Washington, DC-based Institute of International Finance (IIF) has launched an initiative to refine best practices for participants in the structured credit market and will produce a set of recommendations by the first quarter of 2008.

The areas the association will assess include: risk management, credit underwriting practices and the pricing of risks; conduits and the contingent liquidity risks that firms have been exposed to by using off-balance-sheet instruments; valuations; interpreting
