S&P Smit 40 Index tracks 'Next 11' emerging markets as investors look beyond Brics

S&P Dow Jones Indices index tracks the four largest economies in the Next 11 in a reflection of growing demand for broader emerging markets exposure

S&P Dow Jones Indices has launched a new index that tracks four of the so-called 'Next 11' economies as investor interest in emerging markets spreads beyond Brazil, Russia, India and China (Brics). The S&P Smit 40 Index, which was launched on October 22, measures the performance of 40 leading companies from South Korea, Mexico, Indonesia and Turkey (Smit).
