IndexIQ carves out hedge fund replication niche

Launched in 2006 with a mission to work exclusively in alternative investments, New York-based exchange-traded funds provider IndexIQ has carved out a niche in hedge funds replication. Hannah Collins talks to chief executive Adam Patti

"Alternatives has become a buzzword in the ETF space," says Adam Patti, New York-based chief executive of index and ETF creator, IndexIQ. The firm, which is the only provider in the US to focus purely on the liquid alternatives market, registered a 42.87% increase in its alternative investment exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in 2012, says Patti.
