ETF Securities launches Japanese platform for commodities funds

ETF Securities has launched a new platform in Japan for physically-backed precious metal commodities exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Five funds began trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange today.

The ETFs now available to Japanese investors include physical gold, physical silver, physical platinum, physical palladium, and an ETF linking to a basket of these four physically-backed precious metals.

Six independent market makers will provide liquidity on the new funds in Tokyo, which have management fees of between 0.39 and 0.49%. The fund shares are backed by metal which is held in a vault
