When Deutsche Bank launched its range of db x-trackers exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in January 2007, some asked why a firm would want to enter the ETFs market seven years after the launch of the first products in Europe. The answer was easy – the ETFs market in Europe still has a long way to go to fulfil its potential.
