SGX derivatives and ETFs smash records

Derivatives and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) smashed trading records in September 2008, with a record 17,369,505 derivatives contracts traded between July and September, a 17% increase on the 14,831,554 traded between January and March this year. During September, 6,483,272 contracts were traded, 11% more than the last record of 5,842,187 traded in July and 68% more than September last year.

SGX-listed ETFs have also beaten previous records. The trading value
