European Parliament has rejected the standards underpinning the Priips regulation

Structured products issuers are anxiously awaiting a decision by the European Commission on whether to delay implementation of the Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products (Priips) regulation, after the European Parliament voted decisively on September 14 to reject the technical standards underpinning the new regime.

If the EC decides to push ahead with implementing the regulation at the end of this year, dealers face the prospect of being forced to issue a key information
