Green credentials and RBS deal work in BNPP's favour

Winning the mandate to acquire and integrate RBS's £15 billion structured products portfolio and a fresh approach to environmental finance are at the core of BNP Paribas' house of the year award

BNP Paribas was the winning bidder in this year's biggest deal, the acquisition of the £15 billion structured products portfolio sold by Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). The size of the transaction was extraordinary - with 20,000 products changing hands - as was the number of those bidding: thirty-one candidates were reduced to 10, then four, and then two before BNP Paribas was awarded the mandate (see ‘Deal of the year').

The transfer included the implementation of a specific collateralised set-up
