Erik Penser sees demand for structures linked to US and UK equities

It has been a bumper year for structured products distributors in Sweden, and an especially good one for private bank Erik Penser Bankaktiebolag, with sales volumes rising by two-thirds in 2013. Head of structured products David Envall talks to Vita Millers

Investors across the world may look to Nordic countries and admire their stable economies, but it turns out that investors in Sweden are looking for exposure to UK and US equities.

Private bank Erik Penser Bankaktiebolag structures and distributes products for sale via financial advisers in Sweden, as well as offering retail and bespoke products to large insurance companies. It offers both capital-protected products, which now make up roughly half of its issuance, and leveraged products.
