Falling rates slash coupons and extend tenors

Three years can be a lifetime. The last time Structured Products spoke to Dayna Kleinman, senior product manager for alternative investments at Robert W Baird in Chicago, she said a typical product was a JP Morgan deposit that matured in six months and paid a minimum of 6%. This time, Kleinman showed us a JP Morgan certificate of deposit (CD) that has a term of six years. The coupon can pay as little as 0.25%.
